Default A HD TV or An HD TV

    Hi,
We've recently had new advertising POS that advertises "an HD TV recorder", to me this sounds wrong but I believe it to be down to the pronunciation of the "H".
Which would be correct "an HD TV" or "a HD TV".

    Thanks

It's definitely an HD TV that is correct.

I would use 'an HD TV' as I pronounce the letter as aitch. In writing, it is probably better to use an as many people regard haitch as incorrect and get hot under the collar about it: UsingEnglish.com ESL Forum - Threads Tagged with aitch
