A compound sentence is not the same as a complex one.

Yours is a complex sentence.

In order to create a compound sentence you need coordinators (but, and, or, etc). Join two simple sentences with them and there you are!

eg: Capulet's at fault for Romeo and Juliet's death but it hasn't been proved yet.



I don't think you can use 'most'. Fault is not something that can be graded.

I understand what you said, but in my view, that is not a prescribed use.
fault is a noun whitin a prepositional phrase introduced by at.
Nouns cannot be graded. Adjectives can.

Your example is more informal (to me).

You can indeed say:

I think that Capulet's most at fault for Romeo and Juliet's death.

Blame can be apportioned according to who is consdered most "deserving" of it.

Compound sentence:

We are both at fault, but he is more at fault than I am.
