What is the age group of "young people" and what is that of "Teenager"?

Because children's social age is increasing, some people and journalists use an invented new jocular word - 'tweenager' to refer to people from an advanced 8/9 to 12.

Your grandmother may refer to people in their 40's as 'young people' when in fact they are simply a lot younger than her. Teenager is more specific in that the teens refer to the suffix of 13 through 19.
