| I want to write something like the following - blah blah, 5 out of 10 translates to 50%. Is the verb "translates" suitable or should i use another one? many thanks in advance |

| how about "amount"? 5 amounts to 50% of 10. 5 out of 10 amounts to 50%. just a student. |
