| Thanks. Are these correct? If not, why? What do they mean? 1. If she has time, she could go to the party. (Is this incorrect? Because it is present+past where it should present+present?) 2. If she has time, she would go to the party. (Is this incorrect? Because it is present+past where it should be present+present?) 3. If she had time, she can go to the party. (Is this incorrect? If she has time, she can go to the party. (What does this mean compared to #1 and #6?) 6. If she has time, she will go to the party. (What does this mean compared to #2 and #5?) | 1., 5., and 6. are OK, but I'd reverse the order of the clauses. |

| 1. If she had time, she might go to the party. (Is this correct? How come? Is this past+present? How is that correct? Why isn't it wrong? ) Isn't it supposed to be like this: 2. If she has time, she might go to the party. 3. If she had time, she will go to the party. (#3 is incorrect, past+present; how is #1 correct?) |

| Why is #1 correct and #2 is incorrect? 1. If she has time, she could go to the party. 2. If she has time, she would go to the party. 3. If she had time, she might go to the party. (This is correct? How come 'might' is not in past tense? ) Last edited by jack; 11-Dec-2004 at 18:52. |
