Hello, yet another apostrophe question I'm afraid!

Two weeks' notice: fairly straightforward, but does the apostrophe rule stay in place should the following word become an adverb rather than a noun/verb

So, I think I'm asking, is this correct: two months' earlier

Thoughts anyone?

Two months earlier.

You give notice of two weeks, but "earlier of two months" is wrong.
