Could you please tell me what is the difference between "Ready and Willing"? Is there any difference in meaning of following sentences?
1) She is not ready to discuss it.
2) She is not willing to discuss it.

'ready' = fully prepared, as in 'having all the information you need to perform a task and in the right psychological state of mind to do it to the best of one's ability'
'willing' = to be happy to do something if it is needed or necessary
However, you may have a speech all ready and not be willing to present it at this time.
P.S. In the two sentences, the meaning can be very different.
She is not ready to discuss it indicates that she may be "ready" at some future time.
She is not willing to discuss it, indicates that she will not discuss it. Case closed.

Thank you very much for replying.Dose it mean,If "she" says "I don't want to discuss it" or "I will not discuss it", I should use "willing"?
You could use willing in both cases. I am not willing to discuss it.Quote:
