    Lightbulb Whether

    She also wasn’t able to tell apart whether the cold water running down her cheeks were tears or raindrops.

    Should I use "tell apart" and "whether" on the above sentence?
    Does this make sense?

    I would use just "tell", not "tell apart".
    "She could not" may work better than "she also wasn't able", depending on context.
