verb as adjective?
Sometimes I get confused about the English verbs. Could someone explain to me the difference between the following two sentences:
"The miners have worked in the mine."
"The miners are discontented and have gone on strike."
Why does the second sentence use "are" instead of "have" before "discontented".
A question about the passive voice. Why is the following sentence a passive voice anyway?
"A large part of the book is devoted to a description of the scenery."
Thanks in advance for the answer.
Re: verb as adjective?
'Discontented' is an adjective meaning 'unhappy/dissatisfied'.
