sense of space and identity
Hi
A musician talks about being on the road and says: The most difficult thing is to have your own sense of space and identity within the touring community.
--- What does he mean by "space and identity"?

space = privacy
identity = individuality
The musician is saying that being cooped up with other people for a long time makes it hard to maintain physical and emotional boundaries between yourself and the other musicians.

Hi
So it says that it's difficult to stay emotionally balanced and on good terms with the rest of the crew?

No.
She's not talking about her relationships with other people. (At least, not in this sentence.) She's just talking about how he own feelings of well-being.
