Hi I'm bumble-bee,
I attend high school and my english teacher gave me an assignment yesterday.My teacher didn't explain the assignment very well. But anyway the assignment is asking us to write a narrative on the movie stomp the yard but we have intervene at a particular point in the storyline. The narrative has to be written from a new perspective and has to reflect or challenge the films construction of particular characters and events?
I need help asap because I don't understand what it means by challenge the films construction of particular characters and events?

I think she means to begin at a certain point of the movie - and finish the movie the way YOU think it should have been written. Change it anyway yoou want to!

In that way you are "challenging the film's construction of particular characters and events" because now YOU are the writer and director.

Oy. This is how they're teaching teachers to talk these days.

They refuse to speak plain English anymore, then wonder why their students can't.

"Challenge the film's construction" is post-modern-ese for rewrite.

I haven't seen Stomp the Yard, so I don't know anything about the story. But basically, your teacher seems to be saying that the good guys aren't necessarily good guys and the bad guys aren't necessarily bad guys. It depends on your point of view - your perspective. So what would happen if you changed the point of view and cast a hero as a villain or a villain as a hero?
