Same here. I wonder if the teacher's answer to 3 is a cultural thing. Was he Vietnamese? Do authority figures pinch naughty children there?

No, I don't think it's Vietnamese culture. Usually mothers would slap nasty children. Pinch is something that seems like they're kidding.
