I have a way with people = I have a right approach to the people
Dear teachers,
I know the meaning of the idiom “have way with” namely “ have success in dealing with”.
“I can see you’re going to spoil that girl.”
“Nonsense, I flatter myself I have a way with people. I have a way with young children also.”
Would you be kind to tell me whether I can use the phrase “ right approach to the people” instead of “a have a way with people”?
Thank you for your efforts.
Regards,
V
