    To pitch an idea means to suggest an idea to someone?

    EG: I wanted to try to pitch them ideas.

    yes, and a bit more than that.
    It implies that youre really "selling" it as a good idea with carefully pre-thought out positive arguments for it and why they should agree to it (the idea).
