Default Is this sentence correct ?

We would be ourself to be blame...

Is the above sentence right where I'm warning my folks about some possible situation which may go against us. If this sentence isn't right then what would be the correct form of it ?

    Either simply:

    "We would be to blame"

    or:

"We ourselves, would be to blame."

The latter sentence emphasises that the people being spoken about are specifically to be held responsible.

For example, if the Prime Minister were speaking to his cabinet about an issue of international conflict, he could say:

"If the outcome of these negotiations is war, and as a nation, we begin a conflict, then we would be to blame". He might be speaking of the Government, or the country in general, as a rule of thumb.
However, if he were to say:

"If the outcome of these negotiations is war, and as a Government, we begin a conflict, then we ourselves, would be to blame".

This is not an entirely perfect illustration, but it's only to try to differentiate the two for you.

If you insist on doing it and it all goes wrong, then you have only yourself to blame.

If we do decide to risk it and it fails, then we only have ourselves to blame.
