Default satisfactory and satisfying

Dear teachers,

I find the meanings of satisfactory and satisfying quite confusing. I have consulted some dictionaries and still fail to make out their meanings from the examples. Could you please kindly explain them to me?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you in advance.

Jiang

The meal was satisfactory.
(It was adequate, OK, not bad, but not great)

The meal was satisfying.
(It fulfilled a need, that need being my hunger; it made me feel good, happy, full, content.)
