Default For teachers: how do you mention your whole class in your school?

Dear teachers

I'd like to know for teachers in English speaking countries how to call whole class in schools. As far as I'm concerned, English teachers use "guys", "everyone" or "class". Do you have any particular in your mind for this situation?

I heard that "guys" is casual expression compared to the others. So my question is, to be on the safe side, do I have to use "everyone" in class instead of "guys" or "class"? and if I say "class" to mention whole class, is it too strict? I'm in charge of junior high class.

I know my question looks stupid, but I hope I'll be confident speaking in English when teaching studetns in my country. That's why I want to know the possible range of which each expression can be acceptable.

Thanks a million in advance.

Personally I think "guys" is too casual, as you say; I wouldn't say "class" when addressing them, it doesn't sound natural; "everyone" is fine.

"Guys" is informal, but is often used, particularly in a casual sense. For example, if the class is getting a bit noisy, it's common to say "You guys had better settle down." "Everyone" is also a common way to address them as a group.

Addressing the students as "class" reminds me of Sister Mary Elephant, so I stopped using that word a long time ago!
