A proof that our friendship used to be and still is very strong is that we are still close today even if we chose a different high school program and also we will never forget one aspect of our lives : our shared passion for tennis. 2. Back to that time, I was alone in facing such a frightening situation. 3. We shared the same visions of life. 4. However, before we started our first grade after a marvellous summer spent outside to play from the sunrise to that fabulous show which represented sunset, she and her family decided to turn over a new leaf because her father heard through the grapevine that an interesting job was not filled in Quebec city. 5. Because his little brother was his closest friend, Martin accepted that deal and saw Yves pedaled away on his famous machine. He seemed so happy to do such an unpretentious activity. 6. Like any child of my age, I was trying different activities to find which ones fit best with my personality, my talents and my tastes. After soccer, ice skating and gymnastics, my parents didn't know anymore where they could register their dear daughter. 7. There was no shortage of opportunities to have a good laugh! |

In sentence # 5, unpretentious is also o.k. but as you are talking about a little brother, the word unpretentious, is frankly, a bit pretentious. Find another word which means the same or is at least similar and describes the bicycle or whatever of a "little brother". I am not a teacher. |

| Yes, it's better, but I still have reservations about turning over a new leaf, and unpretentious. It is certainly gramatically corrrect. I am not a teacher. |
