business letter to my college principal

i need help writing a business letter to my college prinicipal which i never met. my teacher is having each student write a business letter indicating all the problems that we have at our school. which are safety issues, environmet of the faculty etc

Plan out what you see as wrong : unsafe stairs, for instance; how you might change these for the better, then put them into a letter. with an introductory paragraph explaining that your concerns need attention, and ending with an expression of hope that the principal will see that you have good reason for your comments and will look to take action to remedy the problems.
