Dear Teachers
Is there any difference between (1) and (2)?
(1) He'll be missed
(2) We'll miss him
Not much other than in #1 we don't know who misses him. It's a phrase frequently used when someone passes away.Originally Posted by Unregistered
In addition, (1) is in the passive voice.Originally Posted by Unregistered
Use the passive voice when you don't know who's doing the action:
(1a) He'll be missed by.
or when you don't want to say who's doing the action:
(1b) He'll be missed by a great deal of people, but he won't be missed by me. I won't miss him.
