"lest smb. should do smth" or "si that smb. may do smth."
Dear teachers,
Would you be kind enough to tell me whether the following two questions and corresponding answers sound acceptable in your native language?
1.1.Why did you close the window?
1.2. Lest the wind should break it. A storm is coming.
2.1. Look at that fat man. Why did he run away from us a little while ago?
2.2. He ran away lest he should be seen.
I know there is a tendency in Modern English to use "so that somebody. may (can) do something."; "so that somebody. may (can) not do something." instead of "lest somebody. should do something."

They do not. Lest has fallen out of favor. Be kind, lest it happens to you!
And avoid text message abbreviations in other writing, lest you appear uneducated....
