about wishing for things

Hello there,

I've got some difficulties with expressing wishes and demands like the following ones:

"I wish for you to clean up your room" (does this have the same meaning as "I wish you would clean up your room"? + can I drop the preposition 'for' here without changing the meaning?)

"What did Jane want from Tom?" (is there any difference when I say: "What did Jane want with Tom?")

and finally:

Can I say "He demanded a lot of me" (or should that be "he demanded a lot from me"? and is there any difference between that and "he asks a lot of me"?)

(without 'for')
It sounds more authoritarian than 'I wish you would clean up your room')
