    Default leafage and foliage

Is there any difference between 'leafage' and 'foliage'?

'foliage' is the collective name for 'plant leaves'
'leafage' refers to an abundance of leaves on a plant. (My sense is that gardeners would know this, and painters and architects, because it is also how the depiction of clusters of leaves are termed in paintings and in the decorative work on older-style buildings. Most people would probably say, 'a lot of foliage'!
