Default Longer than?

Dear Teacher,

I'm wondering whether the following is correct or not:

"Please press this key longer than 5 seconds..."
or
"Please keep this key pressed longer than 5 seconds..."

Which is the best way to say it?

Many thanks in advance.

The second is better, though both are ok, and I like them better than other people's suggestions.
