about omission
Hello there!
1.Got a lunch with a client or contact today?(It is the first sentence of a paragragh)
2.He is flying in from Rome to finalise one or two small clients concerning a major deal with you.
I think that both (1)and (2) omit something(if i am right!).
Let me try to make them up:
1.Have you got a lunch with a client or contact today?
2.He is flying in your city?from Rome to finalise one or two small clients concerning a major deal with you.
I don't know if my understanding and making-up are reasonable, could someone help me out of it?
And Are there any rules regarding such omissions?
Thanks a lot.

Yes, "Have you" is omitted here in colloquial speech."
2.He is flying in from Rome to finalise one or two small clients concerning a major deal with you.
You're not correct in the second case, "flying in" is just a phrasal verb meaning arriving. Without the preposition "in" the word flying would refer to the whole flight from Rome to Beijing. With "in" in the verb, "flying in" refers only to the landing, not the take-off in Rome, nor the flying over Iran, etc.

Hi konungursvia,
Thanks for your explanation. But I am still not very clear about the usage of 'flying in'.
According to your reply,if I can understand this:
The emphasis of using 'flying in' is on the landing, not on the take-off in Rome,or the flying over Iran.
Or,"Flying in" just means the landing.I cann't tell if 'he' took off in Rome.He could took off in Rome or Toronto.
Thanks in advance.
