There are lots of collocational phrases in English with the verb like 'make', 'take' and 'have' etc... I just wonder if there's any subtle difference, when using 'make' of 'take' such as 'make a note' and 'take a note'. What is the intuition of native speakers of English...??

To make a note means to write something of your own composition, in your own way, to remind yourself as you see fit. To take a note means to let someone else, the speaker, determine the content which you faithfully record.
