someone was born+a longer name
Hi,I'd like to ask teachers some questions.
"Lulu was born Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie, on November 3rd, 1948, the eldest of a family of four, in Lennox Castle, Lennoxtown, Glasgow - the daughter of a local butcher."
1.What does "someone was born+a longer name" mean?
2.Can the hyphen before "the daughter of a local butcher." be replaced by a comma?

1. "Lulu" is the name her friends call her, but her real name, the name she was given when she was born, is Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawie.
2. The hyphen is incorrect. You need a dash (--). You shouldn't replace a dash with a comma.
