Without any specifics, one can't help you. What is the book? What did you like most about it and why? You might start with an interesting fact or quote and then take it from there.

Here's an opening "hook" from a review of one of my favorites: One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Márquez:
The jungle town of Macondo is a place where it is as possible to ascend heavenwards while hanging the laundry as to be machine-gunned by agents of the local banana company.
