All are. Which we use depends on how the subject of 'my vacation' came up, and whom I talking to. 1-I have two weeks off (in June. Why don't we go to Spain together?) 2-I'm on leave for two weeks. ( I meet someone in the street who observes that I'm not at work. I tell them: I'm on leave...) 3-I have two weeks vacation due/coming up. (same as 1) 4-I took a vacation for two weeks.( We have been so busy at work, I haven't had a holiday for 2 years, but now - I'm feeling stressed and run down. I needed a rest, so 'I took a vacation for two weeks to Tunisia, just lying on the beach.' 5-I'm on vacation for two weeks. (Are you in Paris on business? No, I'm on vacation here for two whole weeks. 6-I'm going on vacation for two weeks. (Telling anybody and everybody about my holiday plans.) Last edited by David L.; 03-Apr-2009 at 16:44.

I'm on leave for two weeks is more commonly used in the military instead of vacation. In the case of a police officer's absence from a job, because of some problem, it is called "leave" also. Sometimes this is paid leave, sometimes not. The other leave is also "leave of absence" which means that it is a lengthy time away from work, and probably not paid. Similar to a sabbatical. These are of course, Canadian uses. I am not a teacher.

In most professional jobs it is referred to as 'leave'.
