Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with mt interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following excerpt from an English text?

There are few permanent full time positions beginning in May for approximately two years.

There are also a few temporary salaried positions which do not include medical insurance, paid leave or sick time.

position = appointment

A permanent full-time job usually has benefits (such as health insurance), while temporary full-time jobs usually do not have benefits.

To me a permanent position indicates that the person has been confirmed into the position and has the rights pertaining to a permanent employee, which may or may not include the benefits you mention [Insurance is not a norm in the UK]. They will have a full contract and cannot be fired without an acceptable procedure of warnings.

A temporary position will be time-governed and will not carry the full employee benefits.
