Idiom
What's the idiom to say that it's better to help not bothering? In Portuguese it's something like "Better helps who does not bother". Is there any idiom similar?
Thanks.

When I was a kid and had to help my parents with some garden work, my father used to say humorously: "Anything that you do not do is a big help to us"
