How to write an decline letter for college?
Here's my fledgling version~~please help revise~~thanks~
Dear Ms. xX:
Thank you very much for offering me the acceptance to your school. I appreciate that very much.
Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to accept the offer. This has been a difficult decision for me, but I am afraid the tuition is way too steep for me and my family that I have to give up the admission in the end.
I want to thank you again for your approval on my application. It was a pleasure to be accepted. wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
XXX.

P.s. I am flying the I20 back. It should be arrived at your office in 20 days.

Were you accepted for admission to this school?
You have to decline the admission offer, due to financial considerations.
(Have you investigated scholarship opportunities)
What does the PS mean? Did you have to return some paperwork?

thank you for replying.
1) yes, I've been accepted.
2) I am a international student. In such an economy, colleges usually discourage international student to apply. I have investigated some outside sources for scholarship opportunities..it seems they mostly only open to U.S. citizens, either..so.. Do you know anything about international student scholarships or loans? Maybe I did not look for it thoroughly.
3) yes, I have to return the I-20 form to the school. Am I expressing it rightly?

Now you are ready to re-write the letter. Use the explanations that you wrote to ire-write your letter. I can understand your explanations in your next posts.
Tell them you will return the form in the letter. "PS" is not used in formal letters.
