Handle
Would you help me with the meanings of 'handle' in the following sentences?
1) "Now this is a really good car. I'm sure it handles well."
2) "That's a fine-looking sports car you have. How does it handle?"
Thanks / ju

Re: Handle
Handle is an ergative verb, which means it can be used with or without an object.
The car handles[I] well = To handle [T] the car is easy.
Edit:
The car handles well -- the car is the grammatical subject but in terms of semantics, it is the object of the verb.
