1.Ahmed seems to be a teacher.
2.Ahmed looks like a teacher.

1. You think he's a teacher (by the way he acts or.. hints you get from your environment)
2. Here, Ahmed has the looks of a teacher (clothing etc...)

I think you can also say that "seem" comes from your own mind, while "look" is something the agent elicits

There's no need to hit Sithcloud:
seems to be = appears, suggesting that Ahmed behaves like a teacher and could well be.
looks like = physical appearance, clothes, etc.
