    It is a warning to the rich and/or the famous and/or powerful in their 'palaces' (as opposed to the poor nobodies who live in humble cottages): as flies to the honey pot, flatterers are drawn and will swarm around the rich and famous, ready to tell you how wonderful you are, rather than the truth.
