Fever blisters have come up on my lip.
There are fever blisters on my lips. [The subject - "there" - is in this sentence a pronoun.]
I would not say it this way; it sounds a bit odd to me. Not screamingly wrong, but rather odd. Something like one of the following would sound better to me:Fever blisters have come up on my lip.
- Fever blisters have appeared on my lip.
- Fever blisters are appearing on my lip.
- I have fever blisters on my lip.
- I've got fever blisters on my lip.
- I'm getting fever blisters on my lip.
...and with any luck at all, I'll never have to say any of them.

P.S. Arrgh! Beat me by three minutes.
Thank you all.I was wondering whether the verb come up was ok in my sentence.
