While I was reading, I realized that these sentences are hard to undertand for me, So I decided to get helped online, and found this gorgeous website.
I really need to get helped with the meaning of the following sentences.

1)How and where man learnt how to produce flame at will is unknown. It was probably a secondary invention, accidentally made during tool-making operations with wood or stone.

2) methods of fire lighting date back to Paleolithic times.

3) Other American innovations include an antiafterglow solution to prevent the match from smouldering after it has been blown out; and the waterproof match, which lights after eight hours in water.

4) America lagged behind Europe in match technology and safety standards.

5) A headline "Without zoos you might as well tell these animals to get stuffed"

6) extol the myth

7) The Americans, however, can claim several “firsts” in match technology and marketing.

Hope answering it doesn't bother you teachers, ( by the way if there was anything's wrong with my Grammar, vocab, or commas, please inform me. moreover, I know that these sentences are easy, but I'm REALLY horrible at english, thus when someone speaks in english fast, or If I get senteces like these in english exam, I screw up & I don't understand a word"
