Hi, I’ve enumerated some points here and appreciate your sharing views with me.

• To whom or what the following pronouns refer? Maybe “you” refers to the sun

whose rays “embraced” her lovers “over autumn’s proud treetop”.
By the way, what does “lied” here mean? I think it should be “lay” not “lied”.

I am awaiting the sunrise
Gazing modestly through the coldest morning
Once it came you lied
Embracing us over autumn's proud treetops

• What is the function of the underlined part? An adverbial or an adjective clause?

A book says it functions as an adverb:

Frail and seemingly disoriented at times, he is looking vulnerable.

• what’s wrong with the following sentence. Some say “burn” is wrong. If it is so,

what should we put there instead?

All of a sudden, she gave a shriek and rushed off to the kitchen, where she could smell her cake burn.

Thank U very much. Still, I seem to be in need of some more clarification:

2. I know for sure that lie means to be or speak untruthfuly; yet I don't get the point of the poet. If we paraphrsed it, it would seem something like:

"Once it (the sun or the morning) came and you told a lie, then embraced us over autumn's proud treetops"; what may it mean???

4. All of a sudden, she gave a shriek and rushed off to the kitchen, where she could smell her cake burn.

Maybe "burn" should be "burning" here , but I'm sure they are both correct; However,
a book, without giving any furthur explanation, says that "burn" is wrong here!!!!
