'to' is not only better, but also correct.![]()
Hi everybody,
What is better to say? Is this your first visit of/to Prague?
Thank you!
'to' is not only better, but also correct.![]()
of is incorrect?
Indeed, there are lots of entries in the search engine with "of + place"
"visit of london" - Yahoo! Suche Suchergebnisse
So it seems to be correct as well. It was just me who didn't know this structure.
Snowcake: in the context given, you were quite right - 'your visit to London'.
References on the site indicated are to 'your visit of London's Olympic venue', and 'the visit of London's Lord Mayor to Westminster Abbey'
and
REPORT ON (the) VISIT OF (the) LONDON METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY TO (the) COUNCIL OF EUROPE.
The very first Internet address listed on the site, VISIT OF LONDON, appears to be a German site...and something has been lost in translation!

The very first Internet address listed on the site, VISIT OF LONDON, appears to be a German site, with a letter by an American. This is the trouble when Americans blur and mix, when 'bring' is interchangeable with 'take' etc.
She seems to be blending 'our visit to London', and 'our tour of London'.
