error in my sentence

Dear teacher,

I have written the below sentence, someone read it and he told me he doesn't understand my english, please point out the problems in my sentance. Thanks.

"good criticisms look like not welcome here, hard truth is hard to swallow for some and no improvement can one have until he/she did just that. "

In the sentence I can think of using the word "seem" to replace "look like", and the word after one should I use have or has? or there is more problem in the structure of the sentence.

It seems (that) constructive criticism is not welcome here. Unpleasant truth is hard for some to swallow, but one can't (have)(show) improvement until one accepts that truth.
