    Question Really?

    They went on an one-day excursion
    The book says this sentence is correct,I cannot believe that the word one has a consonant sound in here!Give me a break!...Thanks for your help!

    You're right.

    Ex: They went on a one-day excursion.

    The word one begins with a consonantal glide sound, [w], so it takes a, not an.
