| Usually in the past at school, when a student breaks school rules, like chatting at class, making romantic relationships, bullying juniors... he or she will be punished by teachers. Such behavior in Chinese is called "body punishment" or "Ti Fa", which was a usual occurences in China, but now is becoming less and less common or not that severe. I would like to know here how to say "TI FA" in English? Regards Sky |

| Corporal punishment - which means the same ("corporal" = to do with the body). Corporal punishment is no longer allowed in UK schools, but was in my day. b |
