Can you tell me the differences between Cohesion and Coherence?
When did we use Cohesion or Coherence?
I'm really confused about how to use and explain them.
Cohesion is sticking together, usually physically: 'The strength of plywood is due to the cohesion of the thin sheets of wood that make it up.'
(When speaking of a relationship of any kind - business, sexual ... - we tend to use the related word 'cohesiveness'.)
Coherence is holding together, structurally - as in 'the coherence of his argument'.
For further details, 'let your fingers do the walking' (many online dictionaries).
