Default deadpan / put all the doubts to rest

Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expressions in the following two sentences from two different English texts.

Well, I thought, this news should put all of her doubts to rest.

Looking as if he was sitting on the set of “The West Wing,” Senator Obama spoke deadpan to the camera about wanting to put “all the doubts to rest.”

deadpan = with a blank, expressionless face

to put all the doubts to rest = to lay all the doubts to rest = to remove all the doubts

Thank you for your efforts.

Regards,

V.

Dear vil:

Yes.
The expression 'to put one's doubts to rest' also has the idea of removing any anxiety associated with the doubts.
