alternative to "thing"
Hi, how can I say this sentence without using the word thing. With 'thing' I mean fact or just something I'll mention in the next sentence.
The only thing that I know.
The only thing that I want.

All (that) I want/know.

Thank you, I forgot to mention that only must stay. In my language All and only have different meanings, I think in polish too.
I don't want to say that All(everything) I want is e.g. you :).
I want to say that I want only(no one else but) you. I don' want to use all or everything.
the 2nd sentence with only is in my opinion less materialistic :)

Re: alternative to "thing"
So, if I want to use all I would say
All I want is you.
and how about if I want to use only
?? Only I want is you
?? The one and only I want is you
?? Just you is what I want.
I know, that these sentences are grammatically wrong, but maybe you know what I am trying to say and help me find the right form.

The same applies to any other language, I reckon.
All has two principle meanings:
- the only thing (only one thing)
- everything (every single thing)
So I should have thought that the best solution in your case is All (= The only thing) I want is you.

Re: alternative to "thing"
OK, thanks for your help.
I'll probably use the notorious phrase 'All I want is you' :). But if somebody knows anything less cliché, let me know.

Let me be that somebody else and give you another option:
It's only you that I want. (now you've got that only of yours in the sentence
).
