Solution Vs Resolution
What is the difference between SOLUTION and RESOLUTION?
Is each word used in different situations. Do they have overlapping meanings? Can a problem have a solution but no resolution?
Please help shed some light over this and remember to be gentle
with critiscism since I am not a native English speaker

Re: Solution Vs Resolution
Yes, a problem can have a solution but never be resolved (resolution)
The man and his wife did not get along, so the solution was to get a divorce. However, there was never a resolution to the problem since she refused to sign the papers.
