please help with this sentence
"We will be finished paying off the loan in two years".
Hi, Could anybody help me with this sentence. Is it in passive voice or active voice?
And what are the parts of speech for "finished" and "paying off" words?
And what is the subject, verb and object in this sentence?
Re: please help with this sentence
It is an active sentence despite the passive-like be plus participle construction.

They are similar adjectives:
WE are hungry.
We are finished.
"paying off the loan" is a gerund clause (prepositional object) and it acts as an adverbial prepositional phrase where the preposition is elided:
We will be finished (with) paying off...
"in two years" is a temporal adverb
