pretty big story:( (part two)
Could you check it then please??
??
Jane and Andy(were waiting) at the airport in Cape town to catch
their plane back to London. They(were) on honeymoon in South
Africa for four weeks and they(felt) very relaxed.
They (had not been waiting) long when their flight (was announced) over the
tannoy :"Flight to London(leaves) in one hour." As
they(were making) their way to Gate 4, Jane and Andy(heard)
another announcement:"Flight to New York(delays) due to a
technical fault. Will passengers please go to Gate5 and wait there for
further information"
"Oh dear!" said Jane"I (hope)people ( will not get)
confused. What (will happen) if someone (gets) on the wrong
flight?"
"Won`t be silly", said Andy."All boarding cards(are checking)before
anyone(is allowed)to board the plane"
They arrived at Gate4. Two hours later they still(did not board)
their plane, and no explanation(were given). Then were both flights
ready.
"At last!"said Jane"We(have been waiting) at this airport for nearly five
hours by the time our plane(will take)off!"
There were only two flight attendants checking boarding cards. They
worked very quickly and soon Jane and Andy(sit) comfortably in
their seats.
"Good evening!"said the pilot"Welcome to flight to New York"
Jane and Andy both(leaped) to their feet and run to the front of
the plane. Fortunately the pilot(did not start) the engines and
they(led) from one flight to another.
"Phew!"I(have) enough surprises for one day."said
Andy"This(wasl not ) a very relaxing end to our holiday, has it. We
need another holiday! Where(will) we (go)next year? "
"Well" said Jane"as we (are going tohave) a baby by then, maybe we should
just stay at home"
"Pardon? What did you say?"

Well, here are the mistakes:

It should be delayed.

All boarding cards are checked before …. (Also, I think “Don’t be silly” sounds better than “Won’t be silly”.)

Since “explanation” is singular, it should be followed by was given.

This is rather tricky; I’d go for “We shall have waited at this airport for nearly five
hours by the time our plane takesoff!”

… were sitting.

Shouldn’t that be “ran to the front of the plane”? And … they were led from one flight to another.

I have had enough surprises …. This has not been a very relaxing end ….
