emotions
if someone says something offensive and they don't realize it you can say that, or
in similar situations where one person is just unaware of the tensions.
I found this sentence above online. Why did the writer pluralize tension. What if I singularize it, what difference does it make?

speaking of emotion
is emotion singular or plural?I have seen both version. What difference does the two make?
for example,
I cant control my emotion
or
I cant control my emotions

Re: emotions
You're making it more difficult than it needs to be. Was there one tension or many tensions?
When one emotion is dominant it's singular: 'I can't control my emotion at winning.'
When you're a mix of feelings it's plural: 'They struggled so hard and, against all the odds, they won. I can't control my emotions.'
