    Default adjective + enought to....

    Hi,

Which sentence has the same meaning?

    # He was kind enough to show me the way.

= (a) He was so kind that he showed me the way.
= (b) He was so kind that he could show me the way.

    Best regards...

    Default Thanks a lot...

    How about this one?

He was tall enought to reach the ceiling.

    a) He was so tall that he reached the ceiling.
    b) He was so tall that he could reach the ceiling.

    Best regards...

    b) is the correct choice. He didn't do the act. He is described as being able to do it, 'could'.

    As for the other one:

EX: He was kind enough to show me the way.

Choice a), the simple past tense, is the correct choice because he did in fact show me the way. He did the act.
